Regular Member

BPOA Members, also known as Regular Members, encompass rental housing providers, property managers, and property management firms. A Regular Membership spans one year and offers valuable privileges, including access to our comprehensive collection of Rental Housing Forms, thoughtfully crafted by legal experts for Berkeley-specific leasing needs, along with various other rental housing forms.

Moreover, Regular Members enjoy the benefit of attending free educational sessions, engaging in quarterly social mixers, and receiving our informative monthly newsletter, keeping them up-to-date with industry insights and developments.

To gain access to BPOA's Rental Housing Forms, joining as a Regular Member is a prerequisite. The membership is renewed annually, with a base fee of $375, supplemented by an additional $20 for each rental unit per parcel you own/manage, whether owned solely or in partnership. For the 2024 calendar year, there is a one-time $30 per unit assessment for political fights.

BRHC Member

The Berkeley Rental Housing Coalition (BRHC) serves as BPOA's legal and political advocacy division. BRHC Members enjoy an elevated membership status and contribute crucial financial support to advocate for equitable and balanced rental housing policies. With the help of a dedicated Government & Legal Affairs director, BRHC engages in lobbying efforts on behalf of its members.

In addition to the benefits offered to Regular Members of BPOA, BRHC members receive personalized assistance and enhanced communications pertaining to significant rental housing policies and industry updates. This ensures that members stay well-informed and empowered in navigating the rental housing business landscape.

Membership in BRHC is renewed annually, and the fee structure is based on a rate of $150 per unit of ownership. In 2024, there is a one-time $30 per unit fee to fund fighting against destructive housing policy at both the state and local levels.

Associate Member


Associate Members comprise professionals and companies offering products and services to the rental housing industry, irrespective of their ownership of rental properties in Berkeley. While excluding access to our Content Library, this membership tier offers valuable benefits. Members at this level gain visibility by being listed in our esteemed Industry Partner Directory. They also have the opportunity to showcase their products or services to our membership through a one-hour Zoom webinar. Additionally, they enjoy a 10% discount on our annual ad rates and can contribute one article per year (500 words or fewer) for publication in our newsletter. The annual fee for Associate Membership is $399.

Supporting Member

Berkeley Property Owners Association Supporting Members are those who do not own rental housing in Berkeley but want to support our legislative, political, and legal issues. Memberships are valid for one year and provide a complimentary subscription to the monthly BPOA newsletter. Membership is annual with a $150 minimum contribution.
