Regular Member
For individuals or entities that own residential rental property in Berkeley.
Regular Members include rental housing providers, property managers, and property management firms. A Regular Membership is valid for one year and provides exclusive access to BPOA’s comprehensive collection of Rental Housing Forms, carefully crafted by legal experts to meet Berkeley-specific leasing requirements.
As a member of our trade association, you gain essential support, education, and resources to help you successfully manage your own rental properties. Whether you own one unit or an entire portfolio, our membership is designed to give independent rental housing providers the tools and confidence to operate efficiently, stay legally compliant, and maximize returns.

Membership Details & Pricing:
Membership dues include a $395 base fee plus $35 per rental unit per parcel.
(This applies whether you own the property yourself or fractionally with other partners.)
Note: Only Regular Members and Realtor Members have access to BPOA’s Rental Housing Forms.
BRHC Member
For rental housing providers focused on legal and political advocacy through the Berkeley Rental Housing Coalition.
The Berkeley Rental Housing Coalition (BRHC) serves as BPOA's legal and political advocacy division. BRHC Members enjoy an elevated membership status and contribute crucial financial support to advocate for equitable and balanced rental housing policies. With the help of a dedicated Government & Legal Affairs Director, BRHC engages in lobbying efforts on behalf of its members.
In addition to the benefits offered to Regular Members of the BPOA, BRHC members receive personalized assistance and enhanced communications pertaining to significant rental housing policies and industry updates. This ensures members stay well-informed and empowered in navigating the rental housing business landscape.
The fee structure for membership with BRHC is based on a rate of $150 per unit of ownership (please note there is a $500 minimum membership fee), and membership is renewed annually.
Associate Member
For businesses and service providers who serve the rental housing industry but do not own, manage, or lease property.
Associate Members comprise professionals and companies offering products and services to the rental housing industry, irrespective of their ownership of rental properties in Berkeley. While excluding access to our Content Library, this membership tier offers valuable benefits. Members at this level gain visibility by being listed in our esteemed Industry Partner Directory. They also have the opportunity to showcase their products or services to our membership through a 30- to 60-minute Zoom webinar or contribute one article per year (500 words or fewer) for publication in our newsletter. Additionally, they enjoy a 10% discount on our annual ad rates.
The fee for Associate Membership is $399 and renews annually.
Supporting Member
For individuals who wish to support BPOA’s mission but do not provide housing or services to rental property owners.
Berkeley Property Owners Association Supporting Members are those who do not provide rental housing in Berkeley but want to support our legislative, political, and legal issues. Memberships are valid for one year and provide a complimentary subscription to the monthly BPOA newsletter. Membership is annual with a $150 minimum contribution.
Please note: This membership cannot access Members-Only content or event registration.
Realtor Member
For licensed real estate professionals who manage or lease rental housing in Berkeley.
If you don't own rental property in Berkeley, but act as an agent for buying, selling, leasing, or property management, this membership is made for you! As a valued member of our trade association, you gain access to information and resources that are tailored to meet the unique challenges and opportunities you face in the industry.
