Positive Rental Payment Reporting Guidance

Effective April 1, 2025, all owners of properties with more than 15 units OR any owner with rental properties held by a corporation, or an LLC in which one of the members is a corporation, must offer all tenants the opportunity to opt in to having their positive rental payment information reported to a nationwide credit agency. Owners must offer the option to all sitting tenants by April 1, 2025. In addition, all future tenancies after April 1, 2025, must offer the opportunity to opt in a the time of lease signing.
